Who the Aeron drafting chair is for
Architects at drafting tables, designers at tall work surfaces, lab technicians at bench height, and anyone with a standing desk who still wants to sit properly for part of the day. At height, the foot ring does the work a floor normally does, and the pivoting arms can be set to your work surface so your shoulders stay relaxed during detailed work.
How we renew it
Every stool is deep cleaned and every adjustment tested. We replace parts as needed, including the gas cylinder, foot ring, lumbar support, armrests and casters, and inspect the Pellicle mesh for tension and wear. Setup and sizing videos are further down this page.

A renewed Aeron stool brings the Aeron's mesh and adjustments to drafting-table and counter height for far less than a new one, with the wear parts replaced and the height mechanism tested before it ships.
Will a drafting stool fit your work surface?
A simple rule works for most people: the work surface should sit about 10 to 12 inches above the seat. With a 24" to 35" seat, this stool suits surfaces from roughly 35" to 47" high.

Where it does not
A standard 29" to 30" desk is too low: even at its lowest, the seat puts your knees under the desktop. For a regular desk, choose the Aeron Classic chair instead.
Already have an Aeron?
You can raise your own Aeron Classic to drafting height with our Aeron stool cylinder and a 19-inch foot ring. At the higher range, the height cable and knob kit keeps the height control working properly.
Setting it up well
Set the seat so your forearms rest level on the work surface, then move the foot ring until your thighs are roughly level and your feet rest flat on it. Your feet should never dangle.

Questions about the Aeron drafting stool
Classic drafting stool or Remastered stool?
They work the same way at height. The Classic stool uses the Classic's one-tension Pellicle mesh and costs less; the Aeron Remastered stool adds the zoned 8Z Pellicle mesh and the newer arms.
Can I use this stool at a regular desk?
No. Its lowest seat height is 24", which is too high for a 29" to 30" desk. It is made for counters, drafting tables, lab benches and standing desks.
