What if the height adjustment isn't working?
As shown in the video, you may need to adjust the mechanism. Remove the tilt cover and check the black pin (or set screw) that presses the cylinder button. Tighten or loosen it until it sits horizontally level; this ensures it engages the button properly to lift or lower the seat.
How do I remove the old cylinder?
We recommend the "twist and knock" method. Remove the seat pan (optional but easier), then use a pipe wrench to twist the cylinder loose from the mechanism. Flip the base over and use a hammer to knock the cylinder out of the spider base.
Do I need a footring?
While not strictly required for the cylinder to function, we highly recommend adding a footring if you plan to use the chair at full height. It provides essential support for your legs, preventing fatigue.
