Leap V2, not the older V1
The V2 is the generation to own. Its arms move in four directions, its arm pads are built to avoid the bubbling V1 pads were known for, the back cushion adapts better to your lumbar curve, and replacement parts are still easy to get. It also rides on a lighter plastic base than the V1's heavy steel one.

- Height. Raise the seat until your forearms rest level with the work surface and your feet sit flat on the footring.
- Arms. Set them just high enough, and close enough, to carry your forearms while your shoulders stay loose.
- Seat depth. Move the seat until two or three fingers fit between its front edge and the backs of your knees.
- Tension. Set it so the back follows you as you lean, without pushing you forward.
- Back stops. Limit the recline when you are working at height and want the back closer.
- Lower-back firmness and lumbar. Finish by setting the lumbar at the curve of your lower back and the firmness to taste.
