1. Is it really a V2?
Some sellers list the older Leap V1 as the more expensive V2. The V2 is the one to own: its arms adjust in four directions, its arm pads are built to avoid the bubbling V1 pads were known for, its back cushion adapts better to your lumbar curve, and its parts are still easy to get. 2. Were the seat and back rebuilt, or only cleaned?
Padding has always been the Leap's weak point, and on a used chair it is usually flattened and stained. We strip the old fabric, add extra high-density foam to the seat and back, and reupholster in brand-new material. We tested the foam with dozens of real people to find a feel that beats the factory original.
3. Is the cylinder new, and the right type?
A worn gas cylinder is the most common reason a Leap sinks. Leap V2 chairs use either a side-activated or a top-activated cylinder, and ours come with a new BIFMA-certified one of the correct type, plus new casters and arm pads. If the seat sinks or rises after assembly, the pin just needs balancing, which takes a minute and is shown in our install video.
4. What happens if something wears later?
Every chair carries our 5-year mechanical warranty, covering all moving parts and mechanisms. After that, the parts that wear on a Leap, from the seat and back to the cylinder, arm pads and casters, are parts we make or stock and film the repair for, so a worn part is a small fix, not a new chair.

From the box to a Leap V2 that fits you
Set up your Leap V2 in five minutes, in this order
- Height. Feet flat on the floor, thighs about level and your elbows at desk height.
- Arms. Raise and bring them in until they just support your forearms with your shoulders relaxed.
- Seat depth. Slide the seat until there is a gap of two to three fingers between its front edge and the back of your knees.
- Tension. Set it so the back follows you when you recline without pushing you forward.
- Back stops. Limit how far you recline, closer for focused typing, further for calls and reading.
- Lower-back firmness. Dial in how firmly the lower back supports you.
- Lumbar height. Slide the lumbar support until it sits in the curve of your lower back.
