How To Replace Your Aeron Size B Seat Mesh?
Your Aeron chair’s seat mesh is one sturdy part, but like any other part, constant use or accidents can damage it. We have an extremely easy solution to replace the Aeron seat mesh. With this simple tutorial, you can remove the old seat mesh and install a new one without a professional experience.
Tools Needed:
- Herman Miller Aeron Seat Mesh Size B
- Seat Foam (if necessary)
- Hexagonal head screwdriver or power drill
Steps to Replace the Seat Mesh:
1) Remove the Seat:
- Begin by locating the two screws on either side of the chair. Use a hexagonal head on a screwdriver or power drill to remove these screws efficiently.
- Carefully lift the seat from the chair frame and place it aside in a secure area to clear your workspace.
2) Detach the Seat Mesh:
- With the seat now accessible, flip it over to expose the bottom.
- Remove the outlining screws that secure the seat mesh to the seat frame. This action will allow you to separate the seat mesh from the plastic frame.
3) Separate the Mesh from the Frame:
- After unscrewing, gently push the seat mesh away from the plastic frame to fully detach it.
- Position the plastic seat frame facing upwards in preparation for the new mesh.
4) Install the New Seat Mesh:
- Take the replacement seat mesh and align it with the grooves on the seat frame.
- Flip the seat pan over and begin reinserting the screws. Initially, the mesh might not align perfectly; it's normal and expected.
5) Screw in the Mesh:
- It’s advisable to screw in the seat mesh one section at a time. This approach allows for easier alignment and adjustment as you proceed.
- Start by screwing in opposite sides to stabilize the mesh, then proceed to screw in the remaining screws for complete security.
6) Reattach the Foam Strip:
Before returning the seat to the chair, ensure to replace the foam strip under the seat mesh. Apply even pressure along the foam strip to guarantee a snug fit.
7) Reassemble the Seat:
- Place the seat back onto the chair frame. Initially, hand-tighten the screws to ensure proper alignment.
- Finalize the installation by tightening all screws with a power drill or screwdriver for a secure and snug fit.
