Exciting News: Enhancements to the Leap V2 Headrest!
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for being leading pioneers in our Leap V2 headrest project. Your feedback has been invaluable, and we are committed to continuous improvement, even post-release.
Addressing Early Adopter Feedback
Many of our early adopters highlighted an issue with the braces between the seat back and the fabric not holding the chair securely during certain movements. Specifically, pushing the chair forward or making exaggerated upward motions would sometimes cause the hooks to come loose. This meant users had to reinsert the hooks, which was inconvenient.
Our Solution: Silicone-Coated Hooks
After extensive testing, we discovered that the high-quality, smooth metal used for the braces didn't provide enough friction to hold securely. The best solution we found is to add a silicone rubber coating to the ends of the hooks. This addition has dramatically improved performance.
Key Benefits:
- Increased Friction: The silicone coating ensures that even with aggressive movements in any direction—forward, backward, or upward—the hooks and braces remain securely in place.
- Non-Abrasive: The silicone tips are gentle on the back plate, preventing any damage while ensuring a firm grip.
Installation Guide
For those who received their headrests through the pre-order phase, here's a quick guide to installing the new silicone covers:
- Receiving the Covers: The silicone covers, about half an inch in size, will arrive in an envelope. Be careful when opening it, as the covers are small and might be black or clear.
Preparation:
- Unhook the hooks from the brace part in the back of your headrest.
- Slip the first silicone cover over the hook. This might require some wiggling due to the increased friction.
- Repeat for the other hook.
Heat-Shrinking:
- Use a heat gun or a blow dryer on the lowest heat setting to shrink the silicone covers, conforming them tightly to the hooks.
- The process takes about 30 seconds with a heat gun and slightly longer with a blow dryer. Check every few seconds to ensure proper shrinking.
Reinstallation:
- Once cooled, reinsert the braces into the back of the chair.
- The silicone-coated hooks will now provide a higher level of friction, preventing any unwanted movement.
Future Leap V2 Headrest Orders
All future orders, including back orders, will have these silicone tips pre-installed on the hooks of the braces. We will continue to update you on any further improvements and ship out components that enhance and improve your headrest's functionality. This commitment to continuous improvement applies even to our older products, ensuring you always have the best experience possible.
Thank you once again for your support and feedback. We are excited to bring you these enhancements and look forward to your continued satisfaction with our products.
