It arrived in a pretty beat up box (the main piece of tape had torn open) and I was surprised there was no cushioning materials in the box. However, it arrived pretty quickly and the chair is in good condition - a few pieces of lint on the fabric and a couple tiny scratches here and there, but obviously Steelcase makes really solidly-built chairs so there's no other signs of it not being brand-spanking-new. Office Logix also included a branded mouse pad with a wrist rest, which was unexpected and I gave it to my dad who has a desktop. I was a bit nervous buying a renewed chair from a shop I had never heard of before, but I'm really glad I went with refurbished and am pleased with the price I got for such a good chair!
